The lame man laid at the temple gate called Beautiful because that was as far as he could go. Once Peter and John came by the lame man and he was healed, he entered into the temple walking, leaping, and praising God. That was his first time in the temple. Can you imagine? Your first time in the temple?
Back in the Bible times, those with infirmities in their bodies were considered unclean and were not allowed to enter into the temple. Can you imagine not being able to go inside the temple? Not being able to go inside your church? Just because you had a problem.
The woman with the issue of blood was considered unclean. That means she would not have been allowed in the temple either. The blind were not allowed. The deaf were not allowed. The lepers were not allowed. Basically, all those with health problems were not allowed to go inside the temple.
What would it be like if this were still the case today? All those with infirmities or problems were not allowed in the churches. Would the parking lots be full of people who wanted inside but couldn’t go? Infirmities means physical or mental weakness. So this is not just our physical problems but our mental health as well. That includes worry, stress, anxiety, depression, oppression, etc.. What if our worries and fears kept us out of the temple? What if our stress and depression only allowed us as close as the door but not the entryway? What if we were not allowed inside?
How crowded would the sidewalks be of people with problems that were not allowed inside the temple? I know I for one would not be allowed inside. I deal with anxiety, stress, depression, fear, and doubt. My mental health is not always 100%. I would have to be one simply at the gate because I would be considered unclean and not allowed inside.
I read a scripture the other day that completely crushes this scenario though:
And the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple; and He healed them.
Matthew 21:14
I wonder what that day was like? How crowded did the temple get with people that were allowed to bring their problems inside the temple? They got to bring all their physical and mental weaknesses to Jesus who was already inside the temple. Some for the first time entered the temple that day and they all left completely changed. They would not longer have to worry about the exclusion from the temple because Jesus healed them inside the temple.
Now, because of the veil being torn and Jesus making a way and being our intercessor, we are allowed inside just as we are! That means all of our physical illnesses do not exclude us from entering into our churches. That means that all of our mental health issues do not exclude us from entering inside the house of God. All of our sickness, our cancer, our broken bones, our anxiety, our stress, our depression , etc. can be brought inside with us when we enter into the temple. The beautiful thing about it is this: we can bring our problems inside with us but we don’t have to carry them back outside when we leave. Jesus said:
Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:28
Good news! We’re not excluded! Jesus wants us all to come as we are! So take it all to Him, friend. All your infirmities — physical and mental weaknesses. Jesus has no rule for who can come to Him and who cannot. Take it all to Him. Walk inside that temple of God (that church, that prayer closet, etc.,) carrying all your problems, and leave them with Him. He would rather carry them for you than have you be burdened down with them.
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
I Peter 5:7
You don’t have to have a reservation for a divine appointment with Him.

Don’t disappoint God. He sent His only Son so that we can have direct access to Him and an open invitation to bring our problems to Him. I wonder how disappointing it is when we bring our problems but don’t leave them with Him? He wants them all. He is expecting them! Don’t disappoint Him by caring them back home with you. If your problems are allowed inside, then they should be left inside.
